A 2 hour group class with Florence Spurling taught virtually via Zoom taking place on Saturday 5th December 3.00-5.00pm UK time.

 In this technique-focused class, students will explore the beautiful inlay method, a traditional knitting technique originating from Estonia that creates the appearance of delicate embroidery worked directly into the knitted fabric. Using a main yarn, and contrasting inlay yarn, this striking technique adds intricate decorative motifs while remaining surprisingly approachable to knit. The class will cover working Estonian Inlay both flat and in the round, allowing students to understand how the method adapts to different project constructions. Students will also learn how to incorporate beads using the very same technique, creating richly textured embellishments with minimal additional complexity. Working from charts, students will knit a series of swatches to practise the core techniques and gain confidence in reading motifs, managing yarns, and achieving a neat, professional finish. By the end of the class, students will have a solid understanding of Estonian Inlay and be ready to apply the technique to a wide variety of garments and accessories.

Students will receive an informative handout and a free pattern of mine is included in the class price. The class will be recorded for your reference afterwards (or if you cannot make the live class) and will be available to watch for 6 months after the live date.
