Neons & Neutrals - Ferrule Workshop
Explore colour, marling and intarsia in this ‘Ferrule’ focused workshop! Students will be introduced to the basics of colour theory and explore how different fibres and yarn types contribute to varied colour effects within the knitted fabric. We will then put these theories to practice and explore different marled outcomes with your individual yarn collection. Students will choose three of their marled mixes, and work with them for the final section of the workshop which focuses on the intarsia technique. The basics of this method will first be demonstrated, and then the marled yarn combinations will be knitted into a textured swatch, inspired by the stitch pattern used within the ‘Ferrule’ design. ‘Ferrule’ is Florence’s contribution to Neons and Neutrals – a Knitwear Collection Curated by Aimée Gille of La Bien Aimée.
3-hour virtual group workshop with Florence Spurling taught virtually via Zoom.
Special guest Aimée Gille will join at the beginning of the class to discuss the design collaboration of Ferrule with Florence Spurling.
